I got the in-country itinerary from GWCA today! Looks like this is really going to happen! We leave October 3, flying from DFW to San Francisco on American Airlines. Then we leave SF at 1:30 a.m. on October 4, flying EVA Airlines (a Taiwanese carrier). After a stop in Taipei, we'll arrive in Hong Kong at 8:20 a.m. on Friday, October 5. Then it will be on to Nanning on Sunday, October 7. Gotcha day will be Monday, October 8! In Hong Kong, we'll stay at the Airport Hotel. In Nanning, we'll be staying at the Yong Jiang Hotel. In Guangzhou, because of the Trade Fair, we won't be able to stay in the city. We'll be about 90 minutes away in a resort hotel called CongHua. It is the site of a famous hot springs in China. Apparently, the hotels pipe the spring water into all the baths! Should be interesting. As much as I'd like to stay at the White Swan Hotel in Guangzhou, I didn't want to delay travel until after the trade fair. Some of my DTC group decided to delay travel, and they won't be leaving until October 26. I've missed too much of Zoe's life already -- I didn't want to miss another 3 weeks! We'll be leaving China on Wednesday, October 17, landing in Los Angeles at 3:05 p.m. We'll stay the night in LA, and arrive at the DFW Airport on Thursday, October 18, at 3:01 p.m. We'll be on American Airlines Flight #2430. |
