Hello from Hong Kong!

Our flights were uneventful. The flight from DFW to SF was practically empty -- eerily so -- as most seem unwilling to fly after 9/11. Getting through security wasn't that bad in DFW or in SF. EVA Airways "Evergreen Deluxe" class was very nice -- kind of like business class on a domestic carrier. I loved how all the flight attendants bowed after we landed! I was much too excited to sleep, and much too tired to much of anything else! I couldn't even seem to read or watch the movies. Mostly I just watched the monitor at our seats as it tracked our way across the ocean toward China!

Arrival in Hong Kong was very easy. After we cleared customs, we just rolled our luggage cart straight to the hotel. We landed at 10 a.m. and were checked in and in our room at 10:41!

We were both exhausted, but wanted to try to get over jet lag and onto local time as soon as possible. So instead of sleeping, we took the train into the city. Walked through Central Hong Kong and took the tram up Victoria Peak, which is the highest point in Hong Kong. The city looked amazing from that high up.

The tram seemed to go completely vertical up the mountain. I took this picture keeping the camera completely straight!

After our brief tourist foray, we returned to the hotel for a good night's sleep. We'll do more touristy stuff tomorrow.
