Bonnie called at 9:21 a.m. today. The first thing she said was, "She's beautiful!" I didn't see her picture for several hours, but when I did, I wholeheartedly agreed! I had printed out a special form to use when I got "the call" so that I would ask all the right questions, but I was so excited I forgot about it and grabbed a piece of paper from the printer tray instead. Bonnie told me about Jin Yi Ling -- my daughter! I was laughing and crying and trying to write down everything she said. Here are the highlights: Her name is Jin Yi Ling. She's from Guiping in Guangxi Province. She was born on November 6, 2000. That makes her 9 months old now! At 5 months, she was 13.2 pounds and 24.8 inches. Bonnie also said she shouts in a loud voice, has a ready smile, and is fond of music. She is turning over, can stand when supported, and is a deep sleeper. When a Vietnamese friend of mine saw Zoe's picture, she sent me the following email, analyzing her face from the perspective of Asian tradition: "According to the Asians and ancient wisdom, Zoe Elisabeth YiLing has a moon shape face (very good feature). She has nice, long, and thick ears (and earlobes). These ear features are very important. They indicate longevity and trustworthy. She has shapely eyebrows (more like crescent shape, which is very good). Her eyes are large, perfect almonds. The feature above her upper lip and below her nose is "deep" which indicates that she is a loyal person. Her forehead is high and broad. That means she is intelligent." I just thing she's gorgeous, and I can't wait to put a smile on her face! |
