When I posted my referral on APC, I got a message from another family saying that THEY had gotten a referral the previous month of a baby from Guiping, named JIN YI LING! I couldn't believe it! Could there really be two babies at Guiping named Jin Yi Ling? Or did CCAA make a mistake? The family gave me a link to their website, with a picture of THEIR Jin Yi Ling, and I don't think she looks at all like MY Jin Yi Ling. But I emailed Bonnie at GWCA and she promised to check it out. I know they tell you not to fall in love with a referral picture -- but how can you not? Bonnie called today to say there are definitely two different Jin Yi Lings from Guiping! And GWCA's translator says the Chinese characters for "Yi" are very different in the two names, and can't be confused!(Which is a good thing, since MY Jin Yi Ling is far cuter than the other Jin Yi Ling, and if they accidentally gave her to this other family, they'd probably try to keep her!)(OK, in my rational moments, I know the other family is saying, "They better give us the right Jin Yi Ling, because OURS is far cuter!"). |
