I sent off the care package to Zoe today! I sent her a photo album with pictures of me, and Mimi and Grandpa, and a picture of her new home, and her room. I wanted to make sure they gave it to the right baby, so I also included a picture of Zoe with the nanny. It certainly seemed to belong, since the album is called "Who Loves Baby!" I labeled each picture with the Chinese characters GWCA sent me. I also sent a soft blanket, and a little soft doll. (I slept with them for several nights, so it might have my scent on them, and maybe I won't smell quite so strange on Gotcha Day!). I also sent a rattle that has a mirror. Most importantly, I included questions in Chinese for the orphanage staff to answer, telling me anything they know about Zoe, and a disposable camera with a letter in Chinese asking them to take pictures of Zoe and her surroundings. I don't care about getting the rest of the stuff back, but I hope I get the camera and the questions back. And I hope the package gets there! I sent it by U.S. Postal Service Global Express, but it will only track it until it leaves U.S. Customs. After that, who knows! |
