Yes, there is a Walmart in China! In fact, there are several, including this one in Nanning. We visited Walmart today to get basic baby gear -- including more diapers. We also bought Maya a sippie cup with a straw since she likes so much to drink from a straw. Then we headed to the Nanning Department Store for more shopping. I carried Maya in the new hip carrier (thanks Charlotte, Cindy, Maxine,Merideth, and Susan!) and she fell fast asleep. Still, she was willing to nap when we got back to the hotel. Even without a lot of physical activity (she was in the cart or the carrier the whole time), the continual stimulation was exhausting!
We plan to have a group dinner with our travelmates, and then have an early night. Tomorrow we have a big day -- the Guangxi Province Minority Cultures Museum in the morning, and then Mother's Love in the afternoon. We'll be meeting Maya's foster parents -- I'll have to work hard to fix her hair prettily! |
